    Aluminum Corp of China (Chinalco), China’s largest aluminum producer, will set up a joint venture with Anglo-Australian miner Rio Tinto to develop the Simandou iron ore mine in Guinea, the Chinese newspaper ‘China Daily’ reports here Saturday.
    Chinalco, the top shareholder in Rio with a 9.3 percent stake in the mining group, signed a non-binding accord to pay $1.35 billion for a 44.65 percent stake in the project, ‘China Daily’ added.

    Senior North Korean official to visit three Africa

    A senior official from the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) is scheduled to visit three African countries, the official newspaper “Rodong Sinmun” reports here on Saturday.
    Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, will pay an official visit to Gabon, Senegal and The Gambia, added the paper, without giving further details.
