The World Bank Institute is to hold a one-day seminar on Climate Change for 100 youths across Nigeria, an official of the institute has said.
Ms Habiba Gitay, the Climate Change Environmentalist of the Institute, told journalists on Friday in Abuja that the seminar would focus on building the knowledge of participants representing youth NGOs on Climate Change.
The seminar will also enlighten them on what action is required, she said.
According to her, the seminar will also focus on importance of communicating to a wider audience that could take decisive action on climate impact on various economic sectors.
She said that the participants would be expected to work on small projects such as behavioral changes needed to move towards climate resilient and low carbon development.
Iretomiwa Olatunji, a consultant on Climate Change at the institute, said that the 100 youths were selected based on some special criteria that bordered on how they would impart the knowledge gained during the seminar in their communities.
“The youths were selected across three geo-political zone – the south west, south east and the North,” he said.
