Zimbabwe music icon appointed cultural ambassador by US charity group

Zimbabwean music superstar, Oliver Mtukudzi has been honored with a cultural ambassador award in San Diego in the United States in recognition of his contribution to the fight against HIV and AIDS, a private radio station reported Saturday.
Radio VOP said the award is sponsored by Project Concern International, a charity group that works in Botswana, Ethiopia, Malawi,Tanzania, South Africa and Zambia where it funds community projects for people living with HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases.
This is Mtukudzi’s first international year award in years.
He last received the Kora award for the best arrangement in the hit son Ndakuvara in 2003.
