Fifteen films representing fifteen nationalities will participate in the International Film Festival of Marrakech (FIFM), Morocco, scheduled to take place 4-12 December, organisers said Saturday.
Eight of the 15 shortlisted films will be screened for the first time : Heliopolis by Ahmad Abdallah (Egypt), Leo’s Room (El Cuarto De Leo) by Enrique Buchichio (Uruguay), Love & Rage by Morten Giese (Denmark), My Daughter by Charlotte Lim (Malaysia), Northless (Norteado) by Rigoberto Perezcano (Mexico), Nothing Personal by Urszula Antoniak (Netherlands), Silent Voices by Lea Fehner (France), and True Noon by Nosir Saidov (Tajikistan).
Will also compete : "Io Sono L’amore (I’m Love)" by Luca Guadagnino (Italy), "Les Barons" by Nabil Ben Yadir (Belgium), The Man Who Sold the World by Swel and Imad Noury (Morocco) Woman without Piano by Javier Rebollo (Spain), Symbol by Hitoshi Matsumoto (Japan), Tokyo Taxi by Kim Tai-sik (South Korea) and The Good Heart by Dagur Kari (USA).
Four awards will be given during this ninth edition of the International Film Festival of Marrakech (FIFM), in addition to the Golden Star (Grand Prix).
In 2008, the Russian film "Wild Field" by director Michael Kalatozishvili, was awarded the Golden Star Festival.
